The Tourism Industry Association of Prince Edward Island (TIAPEI) and tourism industry stakeholders are developing a new five-year integrated strategic plan for tourism on Prince Edward Island.

We want everyone to get involved and be a part of the process. Whether you are part of a group, an individual, or would prefer a private anonymous survey, we want your input. The majority of industry consultations will be completed by June 15th, 2016. To get involved, please contact Peter MacNulty at peter@tourismdev.com or call TIAPEI at 902-566-5008.

The PEI Strategic Plan for Tourism: 2016 -2021 will be built on a comprehensive research, strategic analysis and a consultative framework involving all sectors of the tourism industry. The strategy will identify the actual and perceptual barriers facing Prince Edward Island’s tourism industry and recommend innovative strategies and actions that will focus stakeholder attention on the key issues, challenges, and opportunities.

Vital to a comprehensive strategy and implementation will be identifying and confirming authentic visitor experiences and examining key factors like accessible and affordable air, sea, and land transportation, favourable tax and regulatory environments, access to capital, investment and financing and labour force development.

The PEI Strategic Plan for Tourism: 2016 –2021 will be completed and presented to tourism industry members at the TIAPEI Annual General Meeting in late November. This plan is being supported by TIAPEI, the Province of Prince Edward Island, and the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA).
