The Island’s tourism industry continued its strategic planning implementation process on April 12th with a lively public forum at the Rodd Royalty. The crowd of about 50 received an update on the work accomplished so far, and then smaller groups took a look at several of the most significant recommendations. Tourism operators suggested many creative solutions to some of the Island’s ongoing challenges related to short season, shortage of staff in certain categories, soft adventure and product development as well as ways to encourage all Islanders to be ambassadors for our Province. Great ideas for ways to implement the Vision 2021 Strategy abounded and the morning session ended with a summary of the responses and an invitation to attend TIAPEI’s semi-annual meeting in Georgetown on April 26th.
We hope to see you there on April 26th – register now at http://www.tiapei.pe.ca/tiapei.cfm?id=567
